Welcome to Saticoy Regional Golf Course
Saticoy Regional Golf Course is located mid-way between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara in Ventura, CA. With easy access from the 101 Freeway to Highway 126, this 9-hole, 2,700-yard, par 34 course sits near the Ventura hillsides with views of the Ojai Topa Topa Mountains. Saticoy’s gently sloping layout makes it an excellent choice for beginners and seniors, while its small greens and sixteen bunkers keeps it challenging for all golfers.
Saticoy Regional has a rich history in golf, being the original location of Saticoy Country Club. Our beautiful course was originally established in 1921 as the Ventura County Country Club. It was designed by master golf course architects Max Behr, George C. Thomas, and William P. Bell, with the original clubhouse designed by master architects Sumner P. Hunt and Silas R. Burns.
Clarence Chrisman, Walter Duval, and Roger Edwards purchased the initial 70 acres on October 5th, 1921. The original proposal was for an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, and an adobe Mission-style clubhouse with a dance floor, dining room, ladies’ and gentlemen’s card rooms, showers, and a plunge. The course opened for play in late 1922, and the clubhouse opened in early 1924.
In 1946, the facility’s name was changed to the Saticoy Country Club. In the early 1960s, the Saticoy Country Club moved to a new site in unincorporated Somis. In 1963, the original 70-acre site was annexed into the City of Ventura and sold to Oxnard developer Martin V. Smith. It was renamed Saticoy Regional Golf Course in the late 1980s.
Saticoy Regional Golf Course is 35 miles south of Santa Barbara and 60 miles north of Los Angeles. With easy access off Highway 126, this 9-hole, 2,700-yard, par 34 course sits near the Ventura hillsides with views of the Ojai Topa Mountains from every hole. Saticoy’s relatively flat layout makes it an excellent choice for beginners, while its small greens and 16 bunkers on seven different holes keep it challenging for all golfers.
