Hole #1

As you tee off on the opening hole at Saticoy Regional Golf Course, note that the fairway doglegs to the left. The left side is lined with eucalyptus trees, and your approach shot is to a very small green protected by a large bunker.

Hole #2

This uphill, straightaway par 4 plays longer than the yardage indicates. The green is protected by bunkers on both sides, with a small opening in front—that’s where to aim on your approach.

Hole #3

Begin with a narrow chute of about 75 yards before opening up to the fairway. This hole is lined by trees on the left, with out-of-bounds on the right. The second shot proves challenging, with two bunkers in the landing area. The fairway slopes from right to left, leaving an approach shot to a slightly elevated green. The green slopes severely from back to front and is one of the largest greens on the course.

Hole #4

This hole hits downwind, with grass bunkers that go across the width of the fairway about 150 yards out. This is one of two holes without sand bunkers in the fairway or surrounding the greens, so take advantage of the freedom! Your approach shot will be to a small green that slopes from back to front.

Hole #5

The green on this hole is flanked by bunkers. A small opening in front of the green is very narrow, but deep. Caution, as a slightly miscalculated shot will surely end up in one of the bunkers.

Hole #6

This hole is a short par 3, and the second of two holes without sand bunkers. The hole looks easy, but your tee shot must travel through an opening of trees. Any errant ball will hit the trees and drop straight down.

Hole #7

Our signature hole, this par 4 has a 90-degree dogleg left. Two palm trees mark the corner of the dogleg, with a fairway that slopes down toward a green protected on the right by a bunker.

Hole #8

An extremely challenging par 3. With a very small green narrow in width and protected on both the right and left by bunkers, the tee box is off to the side, making the landing area even smaller. This is the most challenging hole on the golf course.

Hole #9

Par 4 uphill into the wind. This hole plays longer than the scorecard shows. The fairway is lined by trees on the left, with out-of-bounds on the right. The green is protected by a bunker on the left side and a fairway bunker that sits about 40 yards in front of the green, making the approach shot one of the most challenging shots in golf. The green itself has two levels, with the pin always on the second level. If the approach shot is short, the ball will roll down into the first level, giving you an extremely difficult uphill putt to the hole.

Golf at Saticoy Regional Golf Course

Saticoy Regional Golf Course, located in Ventura, California between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, is a 2,700-yard 9-hole course designed by renowned golf course architect George C. Thomas. The par 34 course is perfect for golfers seeking a quick round after work. Though a short course, with three par 3s, five par 4s, and a par 5, it requires players to use every club in the bag. Saticoy Regional Golf Course’s fairly flat and open layout with no water hazards provides a great place for beginners to learn, yet the small greens and 17 bunkers on seven different holes will still challenge more experienced and skilled golfers. The golf course offers a lighted driving range that stays open late. Saticoy Regional Golf Course is honored to host the Ventura County First Tee Program, which teaches children of all backgrounds how to play golf and build character. Our beautiful course is conveniently located 1/4 mile off highway 126 at Wells Road exit—only nine miles from the ocean, and in full view of the Ojai Topa Topa Mountains.
